Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary stretching over an area of 77 sq. km. is a famous wildlife sanctuary in Kerala, South India. This wildlife refuge includes Udumpanchola and Thodupuzha districts of Kerala. It was in 1976 that this sanctuary was created to preserve wildlife.

Some of the very common trees found in this region include white pine, kuntherekkapine, vayana, bhadraksham, pali, cheeni, rosewood and meadows of rolling grass. Not only this, the Idukki wildlife sanctuary trail is dotted with steep mountains, valleys and hills. And the artificial Kizhakkilachimala Lake adds sparkle to the beauty of this hilly sanctuary.
