Karnataka

Karnataka is a state and a part of south India. It is the 8th largest state in india both in area and in population is a land of royal grandeur and oriental glory. The language of the state is kannada. The river Cauvery originates from 'Thalai Kaveri' in Coorg and fertile the state.

Karnataka Formely known Mysore state got its name changed to Karnataka state on November 1, 1973. This State is Situated on the western edge of the Deccan Plateau and has a 287 km coastline on the west.

It is a land with abounding scenic beauty and charm. It is well known for lovely gardens, ornate temples and historical monuments. The ruler of the past have left their imprints in the architecture and sculpture. The grand palaces and beautiful gardens and the splendour of festivals like Dussehra attract the tourists of various places.

This is a administrative capital with office, VIDAN SOUDHA (a huge building of extensive area of Dravidian Architecture) and in the centre of south India for the tourist attraction from different boundaries of India as well as abroad. The stately buildings, sprawling Parks, lush gardens and salubrious climate has bought this city the titles such as the  garden city of India, the Silicon Valley of the East and the retired man's Paradise with lovely climate. Bangalore is one of the most modern and industrialized city. It ranks first in Information Technology in India for the tidal parks. The important industries are HAL, BEL, ITI, HMT, BEML and INTEL. It is famous for good hotels and lodges. The 'Masala Dosa' of Bangalore is world famous.

 A changing pageant of culture, customs, life - styles and religions have made the state a fascinating blend of colours. It spreads to an area of191, 791 sq kms consisting 20 districts. In literacy it ranks 56% (1991). In general people are cultured with nationalism.
